Monday, April 23, 2018, marks the 65th anniversary of Enbridge’s easement that allows them to operate Line 5 in the Straits of Mackinac. It's time for Line 5 to retire because 65 years of this pipeline threatening the Great Lakes is long enough.
All around the Great Lakes state, people just like you will be hosting house parties on April 23 to help build the movement to shut down Line 5. Your party will be one out of many house parties being hosted across Michigan. They'll all happen simultaneously and will be digitally connected (from a big event in Traverse City) so that all people who care about the future of our Great Lakes and decommissioning this dangerous and antiquated pipeline can get on the same page and prepare to hold elected officials accountable in 2018!
Hosting a house party is simple; all you need is a location and a reliable internet connection with a computer to tune into our live video feed. Everything else you will need will be provided. We'll reach out to you with information, and will hold a training call before the party.

Steps to Host a Great Party
- REGISTER YOUR PARTY using the form below.
- INVITE FRIENDS - You will be able to choose whether or not to open your party to other Oil & Water Don’t Mix supporters in your community who you haven’t met yet. If your party is open to other supporters, we will help with outreach by listing your party on our website and will be emailing supporters in your community
- PRINT MATERIALS - We will send you digital agendas, a fact sheet, and volunteer commitment cards. If you don’t have access to a printer, let us know, and we can mail them to you!
- JOIN OUR HOST INFO CALL at 6:00 PM EDT on Monday, April 16th to go over the full plan with OWDM and the other hosts
- HOST YOUR PARTY! Get started around 6:00 PM - Our live video feed will begin at 6:30 PM EDT.
